Aileen has worked in the meetings industry for over 25 years and is currently the Head of Tourism and Conventions at Glasgow Convention Bureau, Glasgow Life. Aileen has served on the board of ICCA as Destination Co-Chair.
The Convention Bureau focus on attracting and supporting association conferences to meet in Glasgow. The Bureau offer a wide range of free client support initiatives to help associations deliver their vision and mission through their conference. Glasgow Convention Bureau is regularly voted ‘Best UK Convention Bureau’ by readers of Meetings & Incentive Travel. Glasgow conference clients are also past winners of the ICCA Incredible Impacts Award and the ABPCO Chairmen’s Award for their work on conference legacy and impact.
Glasgow Convention Bureau is targeted with delivering economic impact and conference legacy to Glasgow by working closely with conference organisers, key stakeholders and major venues, such as the Scottish Event Campus and the city’s academic community.
In 2016, Glasgow was the first UK city to join the Global Destination Sustainability Index of international Tourism and Conference cities.
