#MEET4IMPACT

#MEET4IMPACT is a non-profit organization aiming at changing the way we plan, measure and demonstrate the value of conferences, and the conference industry at large.

Their core mission is to empower the business events sector to maximize positive social impact through events. To achieve this mission, they work with associations and destinations providing them with the tools, guidance and  framework that address their challenges, achieve their business objectives and help them overcome the barriers to creating and reporting broader impacts.

The project was initiated in 2019 by Geneviève Leclerc, an industry professional whose 26 years of experience in the association meetings sector provides a global vision and comprehensive understanding of the needs and potential of this powerful and impactful sector.

#Meet4Impact has been developing training material and building the capacity of DMO teams across the world for several years, focusing solely on the legacy and impact of events. Some key realisations include:

  • They have designed and implemented their own methodology for active intervention with inbound international conventions and destination managers hosting them, in order to help them plan broader and deeper legacy strategies associated with their events and put in place a measurement strategy.
  • They have created the BE Impactful Framework that offers a systematic process for defining and measuring the positive social impacts of events.
  • With the GDS-Movement, they have jointly developed and offer an Impact Strategy and Measurement Masterclass. This only course of this kind in the world is a 4-module training program for destination leaders offering formative & practical content enabling DMOs to build a strategy around the legacy and measurement of the benefits of events. They have delivered this course to professionals across over 50 DMOs in Europe, the UK, Canada, and Australia.
  • Their work with destinations include developing Business Events Legacy and Impact Toolkits, co-developing legacy strategies and methodologies, and carrying out impact studies on a series of events.

They are also currently working on a dozen legacy pilot projects with association conferences and sports events in several countries.
