Earlier this year, the Incentive Research Foundation published the results of a pulse survey fielded between April 2nd and April 16th COVID-19’s Impact on the Incentive Travel Industry (April 2020). Given the continued challenges for the industry related to the pandemic, IRF fielded a study between July 1st and July 15th, 2020 to understand the ongoing impact on 2020 incentive travel, and when industry professionals believe the sector will return.
The study included 205 respondents. Just over 51 percent were either third party planners or client managers. 11 percent were corporate meeting planners, 10 percent were corporate programme owners, and 7 percent were independent planners. The remaining 20 percent included representatives from across the incentive travel landscape. Respondents each had an incentive travel programme planned for Q1 or Q2 2020 that did not operate due to COVID-19.
