JMIC (Joint Meetings Industry Council) has today issued a statement regarding the latest troubles in the Middle East on behalf of its international members as follows:
Acts of terror should have no place in our world. The killings of innocent civilians by Hamas are unacceptable, and this goes against the core of our industry’s purpose.
The global events industry is based on the value of human interaction and on respect for others; connecting people, building empathy and fostering understanding and solidarity.
We mourn with the families of everyone affected. We call on all parties to respect all relevant international law and Geneva Conventions and we trust the international policy actors to ensure that justice and peace will prevail as soon as possible, so that no further lives will be lost.
