With more than 20 years’ experience in the meetings industry, Bettina has extensive knowledge on working with association congresses and in creating close collaboration between associations, academia, organisations, companies and government. AMCs in attracting international association congresses, meetings and exhibitions to Copenhagen.
In her last 7 years as Deputy in the Convention department and Head of Bidding Group, she has developed, organised and executed campaigning strategies for promoting and winning bids on international congresses including project management, communications strategy, contact with public authorities, national organisations, companies and associations.
With a mission to continuously pursue and contribute to the development of innovative, sustainable solutions in the meetings industry, she has been the co-creator of Copenhagen Legacy Lab, a systematic, strategic approach to creating long-term positive impact from congresses. She is also Head of Green Conference Alliance and Life Science Alliance – groups that work towards increasing the value of Copenhagen bids for international association congresses in these specific two sectors.
Bettina is actively involved in several national and international organisations and alliances including MeetDenmark, Wonderful Copenhagen Goodwill Ambassador Corps, ICCA, ICCA Scandinavian Chapter, ECM Meetings Industry Steering- and knowledge groups. Bettina has, for three years, served as member of the board in European Cities Marketing from 2017 to 2020.
Bettina received the ICCA ‘Inspirational Woman Award’ in 2018 as one in ten women globally.
