In this Iceberg exclusive video, however, Pereira’s assessment of the damage COVID-19 has now caused the sector is sobering to hear. She speaks of sleepless nights, of the overriding concerns of duty of care, and of teams of lawyers forcing inevitable decisions to cancel events. She talks about the ultimate grim repercussions for industry SMEs and associations, whose whole annual revenue may depend on a single cancelled meeting, perhaps not covered by insurance.
“This is going to be tragic”, Pereira says. “I can see the theme for the next two years at meetings, shows, at conferences being… where are they?”.
