The recent 59th Congress of the International Congress and Convention Association saw the creation via crowdsourcing of a framework document designed to let the international meetings industry thrive now and into the future.
Named after the event’s host destination, the Kaohsiung Protocol is the Iceberg partner event’s major legacy outcome. A large number of attendees at the congress contributed, and the Kaohsiung Protocol working group was moderated by Gregg Talley of Talley Management Group, also an Iceberg partner.
The document was signed “virtually” by ICCA President James Rees and dignitaries from the Kaohsiung City Government. As part of the Congress’ presentation roster, the Iceberg team was present to witness the moment!
Now the completed document has been made available to the wider meetings industry community. The trends it identifies and covers include enhanced engagement and value strategies, digital restructure and hybrid events, shared risk management, and innovative business models.
