From ICCA:
On 28 June, ICCA signed a landmark tripartite agreement with Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security, together with Beijing North Star Co, Ltd, to collaborate on building professional development capacity in the region for those in the meetings and conferences sector including the development of a certification programme for events professionals.
With the support of Beijing Municipal Human Resources, ICCA and North Star will work together on the development of a Certified International Business Events Professional (CIBEP) programme, based on the successful ICCASkills certifications, which includes CICS and CICE. The programme will join ICCA’s roster of educational initiatives, aiming to boost international engagement and knowledge exchange in business events development in both Chinese and international markets, with a focus on the associations conference and meetings sector.
CIBEP will offer different tracks to meet individual professional development needs, in English and Mandarin, for the Chinese and international conference and meetings market.
The agreement, the first of its kind in China’s conference sector, is an important milestone in the international development of Beijing’s meeting industry. It promises to facilitate the enhancement of talent in China and around the world.
ICCA is excited to continue its role as a bridge between professionals from diverse backgrounds and cultures, providing opportunities for knowledge exchange and mutually beneficial development. We believe the new programme will contribute to business innovation as well as the advancement of emerging leaders and young professionals.
